My approach to Mental Health & Medication

My role as a full-time private Psychiatrist, is for my patients to be understood and cared for as a unique person, rather than a list of diagnoses. Before treatment starts, I will carefully assess your situation and ask for your perspective, so that I can suggest the most appropriate interventions and tailor support according to your needs and way of life. I believe in working collaboratively with my patients so that we can make decisions together, as a team.

I am an advocate of using the biopsychosocial approach to support you in achieving your maximum potential and a sustainable recovery. This means besides medication; we will explore psychological factors and lifestyle changes including your hobbies and way of life.

I believe the constructive use of technology has great potential to further improve mental health. This applies mostly to neurodevelopmental conditions ADHD, and ASD, but may also extend to other conditions such as depression and anxiety.

A promising field for the future is Pharmacogenetics tests - simply the study of how your genetic makeup affects your response to medicine. This test, where appropriate, can further support find optimal treatment.

I encourage my patients to be part of the decision-making process regarding the best medication and treatment plan, by discussing the various options including any potential side effects of the medication.

My personal interests

I’m passionate about developing and improving technologies in mental health, such as telepsychiatry, and virtual reality. I am an advocate for promoting sustainability in healthcare, and ethical integration of technology.

For years, I've been captivated by the art of filmmaking, the nuances of audio equipment, and the timeless appeal of rangefinder photography.

I very much enjoy playing basketball, and PC gaming, and when time is available, I watch U.S basketball games.

Another hobby of mine is playing the tenor saxophone, which has become a spiritual journey and a philosophical exercise. I believe playing music is a fascinating way of expressing both conscious and unconscious.
